A call has been made for the resurgence of neighbourhood watch groups.
Inspector Atland Browne, made this appeal while on NBC Radio’s “face to face” programme this morning. Inspector Browne said that neighbourhood groups are not really heard about anymore. He added, that a lot of resources are not necessary in order to form a neighbourhood watch and gave some tips on how a neighbourhood could form an effective watch group.
Inspector Hezron Ballantyne added, that if there is a burglary in the neighbourhood, the police will examine the scene and take whatever exhibits necessary. He said that the exhibits taken are evidence used in court cases. He further stated that if the responding officer isn’t equipped to retrieve such evidence, he or she will ask for the assistance of an adequately trained officer.
